"Moving Hole" feeder on recycle gypsum Recycle gypsum is made up from reject wall board, cuttings and gypsum board from construction debris, which are put through a shredder prior to storage. The resulting bulk material tends to have high moisture content from being stored outside.

A B.C. gypsum board manufacturer was experiencing constant plugging and "rat-holing" of recycle gypsum in a hopper with a triple screw feeder. To solve this problem, a new "Moving Hole" feeder was installed above the screw feeder, the latter retained to act as a conveyor.

The feeder has eliminated "hang-ups", and permitted the manufacturer to feed optimum amount of recycle. The system has also been mechanically reliable in over six years operation.
