A SELECTION OF DRY ASH STORAGE AND LOAD OUT PROJECTS

WETTED FLY ASH STORAGE AND LOAD OUT (1995)

Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada

The Kamloops installation stores and loads wet fly ash from a hog fuel boiler. The Kamengo Feeder loads the wet fly ash into an open dump truck.

FLY ASH STORAGE, CONDITIONING AND TRUCK LOAD OUT (1997)

Powell River, British Columbia, Canada

The Powell River installation stores and loads dry fly ash collected from a hog fuel boiler. The Kamengo Feeder discharges the dry fly ash from the 10,500 cu-ft bin above into either rail cars or open truck containers. The ash system is capable of conditioning the ash at the point of discharge using a fine mist of water.

DRY FLY & BOTTOM ASH STORAGE, CONDITIONING, AND LOAD OUT (2005)

Rothschild, Wisconsin, USA

The Rothsclid installation stores a mix of dry fly ash and bottom ash in a 6,000 cu-ft bin. To minimize water consumption, the ash is only conditioned as it is loaded into a truck. The bottom of the Kamengo Feeder is fitted with a load out deck that drops on top of the truck container, providing a vacuum seal to suppress dusting. A dust collector is used on the deck to vent the displaced air from the container.

WET BOTTOM ASH STORAGE AND LOAD OUT (2009)

Kogan Creek, Australia

The Kamengo feeder was started up in 2007 at Australia’s largest coal-powered power plant. The ash from the submerged chain conveyor is transported by belt conveyor to the bottom ash silo, which can accommodate up to 200 tonnes of saturated coarse ash.
